Designing for varying needs
Over the last three years we have been working with Housing Associations to define the key criteria that are critical to the needs of their customers. This includes shared ownership schemes, Housing Association clients, and disabled and elderly users. This has given us the building blocks to create fit for purpose, stylish kitchens, flexibly designed for their target markets.
A few of the ideas we have implemented include:
The Enable range: a kitchen that allows for optimum accessibility that also:
- offers a wide range of choice, accommodating the design philosophy adopted in standard kitchen ranges;
- gives a high degree of flexibility, ensuring the physical needs of different users are catered for equally;
- has excellent functionality, without sacrificing style;
- meets the specified standards for special needs users.
Meeting storage capacity targets: Manhattan will calculate cubic storage capacity for customers without troubling their architects, and will design kitchens specifically to meet agreed capacity targets.
Optimising Eco-Homes ratings: we understand that energy-efficient homes are not only good news for the environment - RSL's financial health depends on them. We can advise you on how to improve your ratings by taking simple, cost effective measures. For instance, Manhattan have supplied and fitted 36 eco-bins and A-rated washing machines to Bloor Homes for a development at Oxford Road, Reading.
