Manhattan Furniture kitchen at Chippingdale Cricket Club

Manhattan Furniture has recently been involved in a community-based project to help Chippingdale Cricket Club with the refurbishment of the club house and tea hut as part of an on-going project known as ‘Cricket Force’. Chippingdale Cricket Club has been fundraising for a state-of-the-art set of practice nets. These had the grand opening on Saturday 31st March 2012, with guest speakers including the former England Men’s and Women’s Cricket Captains.

Manhattan Furniture was asked if they could assist with the refurbishment of the tea hut to bring it up-to-date. This involved supplying new kitchen furniture, sink, taps and appliances. It was all fitted and installed at extremely short notice and to very tight deadlines, everyone involved should give themselves a pat on the back! The final results were a vast improvement from the previous kitchen area at the club!

Paul Wood from Chippingdale Cricket Club has asked me to once again thank all those involved. They are all truly delighted with the result, and we’re welcome to go and watch the cricket anytime we like! The photo below is the children’s cricket team at Chippendale Cricket Club.

Manhattan receives International Safety Award for 12th consecutive year.

Manhattan has received the International Safety Award for 12th consecutive year. To gain this award, Manhattan had to showcase its safety policies by answering twelve questions. Questions vary each year, but this year included: “(1) What are the THREE most significant health hazards and THREE most significant safety hazards at this site / in this business unit? Justify your selection, (2) With reference to ONE of the hazards identified in Question 1, describe how the level of risk was determined (the process used) and (as an attachment to the application) provide a hard copy of the relevant risk assessment” and so on. You can read the questions in full by clicking here.

Stuart Newble, Operations Manager for Manhattan Furniture said: “Winning this International Safety Award means that Manhattan has been recognised and rewarded for demonstrating commitment to improving health and safety. Winning this award also proves that Manhattan care about the health and safety of all their employees.”
