Manhattan's stated objective is to minimise the effects of our operation on the environment.
Energy and waste
In conjunction with our local partners, we now use over 95% of our waste material for the production of electricity that is fed back into the national grid. But it is not just with the production of electricity we are helping, over the last 6 months we have consumed an incredible 29% less electricity in the production of our cabinets. Add to that the 10% reduction we have achieved in wasted raw material and we are really seeing the benefits of our 'lean manufacturing' processes.Sustainability
We are continuing to make progress towards environmental best in class within the furniture industry. We have already achieved FSC and PEFC accreditation via the Soil Association to demonstrate chain of custody and sustainability of all our timber based products. This means you can be confident that our products are sourced from forests that are both environmentally appropriate and socially beneficial.Environmental
We are extremely proud to have been approved for accreditation to BS:EN 14001 Environmental Management Systems, demonstrating our total commitment to the minimisation of our effects on the environment.
